This site exists because most AI content is written by people who never ran the thing they're describing. We got tired of guides that skip the error messages, "free tier" roundups that are quietly six months out of date, and tool reviews that read like press releases.
How we test
Every guide and review is run start-to-finish on our own machines before it's published. The screenshots are ours. The rate limits are the ones we actually hit. When a step failed for us, the fix is in the troubleshooting section — because if we hit it, you will too.
The verified badge
Guides and reviews carry a Last verified date. That's the last day someone on this team re-ran the steps and confirmed they still work. When a platform changes its pricing or limits, we update the post and log it in the changelog at the bottom — we don't silently rewrite history.
What we publish
Four formats: guides (step-by-step, tested), articles (essays and dev notes), reviews (hands-on, with the catch stated plainly), and news (what changed and what it means for you). Across five topics: free and cheap AI access, install and setup, prompting and workflows, AI tools, and dev notes.
The catch — our favourite section
Every "free" thing has one. Rate limits, data-training clauses, credit-card traps, deprecation risk. We put it in a clearly-labelled section instead of hiding it, because trust is the only real moat a publication has.
